Human-wildlife conflict

Human-wildlife conflict

Habitat loss and rapid population growth mean human-wildlife conflict is on the rise, impacting both the welfare of individual animals as well as the survival of species. Wherever possible the Wildlife Emergency Response Unit  will look to intervene and educate the community involved to live alongside the wildlife or relocate the animal. In situations where this is not possible DNPW may be required to remove the problem animals through their destruction.

To report wildlife crime call 01759833. For wildlife rescues call 088 44 88 999.
